I am a(n):

Entrepreneur

Companies I work or worked for:
Sun Microsystems, Safeway, Exxon, Caterpillar
Achievements (products built, personal awards won):

Led a team to build the industry-leading business intelligence (BI) and Big Data Analytics platform to provide on-the-fly view of sales and customer information across 1,500 stores. This enables better business execution and build relevant customer loyalty programs. Within 12 months of product launch, signed on the top 100 Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) customers. Instrumental in securing over $7M partnership contracts.

If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I want to change the world.

My favorite startups:

Amazon.com ; FedEx ; Apple

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Hit a wall, struggle, face rejection; wake up, get up, keep going. Follow a dream, and build a team to share the dream to make it happen.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Personal Ego.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

1) Personal ego gets in the way of being open-minded
2) Underestimate the time and resource it takes
3) Over simplify difficult problems (and underestimate the merit of existing solutions).
