What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make?

I've seen many. And each are different -- but the outcomes were always the same -- the company didn't make it (e.g. wrong team/leadership, wrong choices in investment partners, wrong timing on fund raising, etc, etc). If I had to choose the most glaring, and probably most easy to affect (which makes it that much more heartbreaking to see it happen), Id' say...Founders create their 'baby', and pay less attention to actual market demand/need. This often dooms them from the start, OR, prevents them from making critical 'pivots' at key times to ensure maintaining appropriate market alignment.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

1) Its a sprint AND a marathon -- prepare for both -- and it's not easy to understand until you've been through it once. 2) Your team IS your family -- prepare for the marriage. The best products fail with out the right team -- both experience and ability to collaborate and effectively work TOGETHER as a high performing team One weak link can realistically derail the entire train. 3) Learn to have fun, be patient and manage your emotions. If you live and die by each failure or success -- you'll burn out before the very first turn in the race.
