I have been experiencing my own transformation over the last several years, and have since put those experiences into my first book, Shedding the Corporate Bitch, in hopes that I can help even one person achieve success without the mistakes I made when I chose to be someone I was not - a Bitch. From the response and the attention paid to my (soon to be published) book, I have hit a nerve that is causing folks to pay attention. I love that! If you're an entrepreneur or corporate innovator, why?

I love the challenge of creating something that could help change the world or at least a mass of people!

Wow, that's tough - Sticky Sheets, Tow Truck in a Box, Piano Wizard, then there's Google, Facebook that changed the world

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Frustrating - being an ex-global VP, I had all of the money and resources in the world. As an entrepreneur you do not (even if you have all of the money - you don't want to be foolish)

Rewarding - making a difference to someone's life - customer, employee, vendor, partner, or anyone

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs/innovators make?

Not having enough money - or a plan on how to spend the money they have.

ME - not planning for the unexpected. I will never do that again!

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

Wow - only 3?
- Seek mentors, coaches and advisors - don't go it alone, but know it is your decision at the end.
- Have a plan to work by, be flexible with it, but allow it to give you structure and focus
- Be creative when resourcing your projects and tasks - don't think small - consider creative alternatives of payment, bartering, deferring, rewarding, etc.

Bernadette Boas is Founder and President of Ball of Fire, Inc., a media, communication and publishing firm, and The Boas Group, a business management consulting practice. Both firms are dedicated to helping individuals optimize their personal and professional development. Bernadette Boas is considered a ‘ball of fire’ that inspires, motivates and equips individuals and professionals with the mindset, skills, and talents they need to obtain success and prosperity.

Bernadette is currently authoring her first book – Shedding the Corporate Bitch which is a look at her 25 years as consultant and management executive, and analyzes the impact her own mindset, skills and talents had on her body, mind, and spirit, as well as the people and relationships in her life.

Prior to starting her companies in 2008, Bernadette spent over twenty five years driving change and delivering significant revenue and profitability improvements to clients such as Wal-Mart, Target Corporation, Office Depot, Sears, American Retail Group, and others.

A native of Havertown, PA, Bernadette spent over 25 years in corporate America in various consulting and global management leadership positions in the retail and technology industries, before becoming an entrepreneur.

Bernadette is an active Board of Advisor member for Bring on the Music Organization, is an active member of CEO Space International, is involved with Atlanta Women in Business and other women and business associations.

Bernadette lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her four-legged best friend, Charlie and is an avid cyclist, runner, and dog park visitor.
