Daphne Kwon co-founded ExpoTV, the first and largest video-based social commerce network specifically tailored for the consumer in control, offering a fun, fast way for real people to connect, share and celebrate the products they are passionate about. The programming service, launched November 2004, is available online at www.expotv.com and is distributed through partnerships with the world’s largest portals including Yahoo!, AOL, Google and YouTube; to leading ecommerce destinations like Smarter.com and Buy.com; and to more than 25 million digital cable homes through VOD partnerships with Comcast, Time Warner, Charter, Verizon and other cable operators.

Prior to founding ExpoTV, Kwon served as Chief Financial Officer and a founding employee of Oxygen Media, overseeing finance, business development, and technology. In this capacity, Kwon completed various initiatives including authoring the initial business plan, structuring over $500 mil of financing, negotiating and integrating new media acquisitions, and securing distribution for the cable network.

Prior to joining Oxygen, Kwon reported to the President of the Disney/ABC Cable Networks as Director of Business Planning, which resulted in the successful launches of Toon Disney, SoapNet, and the Lifetime Movie Network. She was also a member of the financial management committees representing Disney’s interests in the A&E Networks, Lifetime Networks and E! Television. Prior to moving to ABC, Kwon worked in Disney’s Corporate Strategic Planning Department, where she was responsible for business planning of the media company’s television, film and recorded music divisions.

Daphne holds business degrees from Harvard Business School and the University of Michigan. She was named as both a top 100 “Women in Cable” and “Most Influential Minorities in Cable” by Cable World magazine, and selected as a “Top 40 under 40” business leader by Crain’s New York Business magazine. Daphne has also been named as a “Silicon Alley 100,” an award that identifies the 100 most influential people in New York digital business.
