About Bobbi Booker...


Bobbi Booker is a Philadelphia-based journalist, radio personality and
blogger. Bobbi's far-reaching editorial experience includes news,
culture, lifestyle, business, sports, politics and entertainment for
diverse publications including The Philadelphia Tribune,
BlackAmericaWeb.com, Philadelphia magazine, Philadelphia Weekly,
Smooth magazine, UBO.net and online at The Book Report. Ms. Booker
recently completed the 2008 Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and
the Constitution and is a 2005 Fellow of the National Endowment for
the Arts (NEA) Journalism Institute in Classical Music and Opera at
Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She is frequently
consulted by the media on Pop Culture and has appeared on numerous
television and radio programs. Ms. Booker has covered several
high-profile international events such as Live 8, Gospel Music Awards,
The Reggae & World Music Awards and the Grammy Awards and has landed
one-on-one interviews with A-list stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Quincy
Jones, Stevie Wonder and Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1981, Ms. Booker
launched her professional broadcast career at NPR-affiliate WRTI-Fm
90.1 as a news reporter and in 1999, was named co-host of "Ovations."
Ms. Booker was recently honored by PA State Senator Vincent Hughes
with the 2008 7th Senatorial District Community Service Award and has
been selected for the 2008 NEA Arts Journalism Institute for Dance
Criticism at the American Dance Festival at Duke University.
