No, I’m not referring to the next Terminator movie – I’m talking about the Palm Pre cellphone – which has finally been announced to hit store shelves on June 6 of this summer.
Sorry, AT&T, this time around, the smart phone everybody wants will be offered exclusively by Sprint. The phone can be purchased at Sprint stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Wal-Mart for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Buyers must also add on a data plan which starts out at $70/month.
The Palm Pre will support one main feature the iPhone does not. The ability to run multiple applications at once. Palm Pre’s new OS will allow users to keep multiple applications like email, maps, websites and games open, letting them flip through them as “activity cards.”
Other highly anticipated phones set to be released this summer include rumors of an updated iPhone and new Android phones.
