Amazon expanding senior health leaders; Mayo Clinic and Lisa Health team up for menopause initiative

Amazon's getting more serious about healthcare. Amazon's 10 most recent healthcare job openings include: Manager of revenue cycle for Amazon Care; Head of worldwide business development for health and beauty; Global communications manager for health and welfare; Senior marketing manager for Amazon Halo, which measures sleep and movement. Walmart has tapped Epic to use its electronic health records system to connect records across all of its healthcare services, including virtual care. Read more on Fierce Healthcare.

Loop Health: Loop Health announced today a $12M Series A led by General Catalyst to build better healthcare India, driven by the belief that health benefits should be simple, useful, and holistic. Think of them as the Oscar Heath of India.

Lisa Health: Lisa Health is a digital health company creating advanced technology solutions for menopause and healthy aging.  Lisa Health enters into know-how license agreement with Mayo Clinic for menopause digital health initiative. Collaboration includes piloting the technology at Mayo Clinic and investment in the women’s health startup. Read more

DotCom Therapy: DotCom Therapy is a Madison, Wisconsin based company, specializing in providing speech therapy, occupational therapy, and mental health services.  DotCom Therapy partners with Goodside Health for in-school teletherapy. Students identified as having mental health problems can talk to a therapist from the nurse's office. Read more  

CrowdHealth: CrowdHealth, the Austin-based company officially launched earlier this week with $6 million in funding in a round led by Next Coast Ventures and Activate Venture Partners, along with individual investors and funding from Schoonover himself. Read more

Perfect Day: Perfect Day is Berkeley, Ca.-based consumer biology company whose best-known product is animal-free milk protein. Perfect Day has raised $350 million in Series D round led by Temasek and CPP Investments. Bob Iger and Horizons Ventures also participated in the round, among others. More here.

Elligo Health Research: Elligo Health Research is a Austin, Texas-based outfit that aims to expand patient access to clinical trials. Elligo Health Research has raised $135 million in Series E funding. Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and Ally Bridge co-led the round, joined by Norwest Venture Partners, Hatteras Venture Partners, and Syneos Health. Read more  

Wayspring: Wayspring is a Nashville, Tn.-based outfit focused on substance use disorder treatment. Wayspring has raised $75 million in funding, including from major payers such as Centene Corporation, Highmark and the Blue Venture Fund. Read more

Anji Pharma: Anji Pharma is a Cambridge, Ma.-based biotech that's focused on diabetes, chronic kidney disease and constipation. Anji Pharma has raised $70 million in Series B funding from the venture firm CR Capital. Read more

Stellar Health: Stellar Health is a New York-based point-of-care workflow tool for healthcare providers. Stellar Health has raised $60 million in Series B funding led by General Atlantic, with participation from Point72 Ventures and Primary Venture Partners. Read more

Lifebit: Lifebit is a London-based biomedical data company. Lifebit raised $60 million in funding led by Tiger Global Management. Other participants in the round included Eurazeo, Pentech Ventures, and Beacon Capital. Read more 

Ventyx Biosciences: Ventyx Biosciences is an Encinitas, Ca.-based amalgamation of three biotechs. Ventyx Biosciences has raised $51 million in Series B funding led by Surveyor Capital, with participation from earlier investors venBio Partners, OrbiMed and nearly a dozen other investment groups. Wider Circle: Wider Circle is a Redwood City, Ca.-based hyper-local healthcare program and in-person social network for seniors. Wider Circle has raised $38 million in Series B funding. AmeriHealth Caritas led the round, joined by Blue Venture Fund and Chicago Ventures. Read more

NovaSignal: NovaSignal is a L.A.-based brain health assessment startup whose FDA-cleared ultrasound technology assesses real-time cerebral blood flow. NovaSignal has raised $37 million in Series C1 funding co-led by Alpha Edison and Reimagined Ventures. Read more

Vital: Vital is a Atlanta-based AI patient experience software maker that was cofounded by Mint.com founder Aaron Patzer. Vital has raised $15 million in Series A funding. Transformation Capital led the round, joined by First Round Capital and Threshold Ventures. Read more 

Hemanext: Hemanext is a Lexington, Ma.-based blood storage company that processes and stores red blood cells at a low oxygen saturation level, inducing hypoxia to preserve the blood’s quality by reducing potential oxidation. Hemanext just raised $15 million in funding. Backers include Antaeus Enterprises, Stephen Eckert and Omega Advisors. Read more

Vytelle: Vytelle is a Hermiston, Ore.-based livestock genetics services startup. Vytelle has raised $13.2 million in Series A funding co-led by Open Prairie and Fulcrum Global Capital. Read more

ForMotiv: ForMotiv is a Philadelphia, Pa.-based behavioral data and predictive analytics company. ForMotiv has raised $6 million in additional seed funding. Vestigo Ventures led the round, joined by Plug & Play Ventures and Dreamit Ventures. Read more

Heydoc: Heydoc is a London-based health administration tech company. Heydoc has raised $8.3 million of Series A funding. Smedvig Capital led the round, joined by Hambro Perks, Triple Point Ventures, and InHealth Ventures. Read more
