NextStep raised $3.6M; Darmiyan landed $6M; Frank secured $5M;

Mighty Jaxx: Mighty Jaxx makes licensed collectibles. Mighty Jaxx has raised roughly $3.2 million in funding led by the investment arm of KB Financial Group, one of South Korea’s largest banks. The round also included participation from Greycroft Partners and earlier investor SG Innovate. Read more 

NextStep: NextStep is a mobile-based training platform and job placement company. NextStep has raised $3.6 million in funding. Springrock Ventures led the round, joined by Jazz Venture Partners, Learn Capital, and the managing directors of Pioneer Square Labs. Read more

Darmiyan: Darmiyan, a  biotech startup whose brain diagnostics tools illuminate brain tissue microstructure with geometrical modeling. Darmiyan has raised $6 million in seed funding. Eisai led the round, joined by IT-Farm and Y Combinator. Read more

Frank: Frank helps students apply for financial aid. Frank has raised $5 million in new funding from earlier backers Aleph and Apollo Global Management co-founder Marc Rowan, along with new backer GingerBread Capital. Read more 

Koinworks: Koinworks connects small and medium-sized businesses to its peer-to-peer lending platform. Koinworks has raised $20 million in equity and debt, including from earlier backers Quona Capital, EV Growth, and Saison Capital. Triodos Bank, a Netherlands-based global bank, provided some of the debt.  Read more

Kargo: Kargo is a logistics startup cofounded by former Uber Asia executive Tiger Fang. Kargo has raised $31 million in Series A funding. Tenaya Capital, Sequoia Capital India, Mirae Asset Management, and Intudo Ventures invested, among others. Read more
