Joust Labs raised $2.6M; Blade closed $4.3; Polarity landed $8M; Hazel Technologies secured $13M

Joust Labs: Joust Labs is a US neo-banking startup specifically for freelancers. Joust Labs has raised $2.6 million in seed funding led by PTB Ventures, with participation from Accion Venture Lab, Financial Venture Studio, and Techstars. Read more

Blade: Blade is a new cryptocurrency derivatives exchange company launching in three weeks. Blade has raised $4.3 million in seed funding from Coinbase, SV Angel, A.Capital, Slow Ventures, serial entrepreneur Justin Kanand Quora co-founder Adam D’Angelo. Read more  

Polarity: Polarity by Breach Intelligence Enables Real-time Collaboration for IT and Security Professionals. Polarity has raised $8.1 million in Series “AA” funding led by TechOperators, with Shasta Ventures, Strategic Cyber Ventures, Gula Tech Adventures, and Kaiser Permanente Ventures also participating. Hazel Technologies: Hazel Technologies develops biotechnology for reducing waste in the agricultural supply chain. Hazel Technologies has raised $13 million in Series B funding. Pangaea Ventures led the round; other investors in the round include S2G Ventures, The Grantham Foundation, Asahi Kasei Ventures, Rhapsody Venture Partners, Serra Ventures, Valley Oak Investments, Climate Impact Capital, and ImpactAssets. Herbivore: Herbivore: Herbivore: Herbivore is a skincare brand. Herbivore: Herbivore raised $15 million in Series A funding. Silas Capital led the round, joined by S1 Fund. Read more 

Light Field Lab: Light Field Lab is developing holographic display technologies. Light Field Lab has raised $28 million in Series A funding. Bosch Venture Capital and Taiwania Capital co-led the round and were joined by Samsung Ventures, Verizon Ventures, Comcast, Liberty Global Ventures, NTT Docomo Ventures,  HELLA Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Alumni Ventures Group, R7 Partners, and Acme Capital. Attentive: Attentive is a personalized mobile messaging platform for innovative brands. Attentive has raised $40 million in Series B funding. Sequoia Capital led the round, joined by IVP, High Alpha, and earlier backers Bain Capital Ventures, Eniac Ventures, and NextView Ventures. Read more
