Dr. Donald Sonn works with the Urology Group of Western New England using the best technology the industry had to offer in surgical procedures and treatment in curing diseases such as Prostate cancer and Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Sonn currently offers his patients GreenLight Laser Therapy for treatment of BPH and da Vinci Robot surgery in the treatment of prostate cancer. These minimally invasive surgeries are used to treat serious diseases that once would require far more complicated surgeries with greater recovery times, higher risks, and lower levels of accuracy and precision.

With a passion for evolving technology and providing patients the best in treatment options, Dr. Donald Sonn spent ten years of his career teaching students the latest in Urological studies at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sonn's devotion to teaching and his students was recognized in 2004 when he was awarded an "Excellence in Teaching" award from the University. Dr. Sonn believes in higher education and understands that the study of Urology is rapidly evolving as technology continues to improve and offer greater options for surgeons as well as their patients. Passing this knowledge on to his students was highly rewarding for Dr. Sonn and he greatly enjoyed his tenure at University.

Having spent time as an assistant professor teaching young Urology students and as Chief of Surgery at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Dr. Sonn is familiar with being in a position of high regard and influence. Promoting a healthy lifestyle, annual checkups, and an awareness of serious urological diseases is important in improving the quality of life for countless individuals and in early detection of life-threatening illnesses. Dr. Donald Sonn leads a healthy, active lifestyle that includes traveling, mountain biking, and skiing. He encourages others to remain active and lower risks for disease as well as watch for common symptoms in order to receive treatment in early stages for the best chance of success.
