Donald Sonn has an incredible career as a physician specializing in urology. With an illustrious career, Sonn has been practicing effective medicine in his medical field with professionalism, expertise and efficiency that he gives to each of his patients, day in and day out.

Donald Sonn began his undergraduate work at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He was an excellent student and showed his academic prowess and commitment to become a great physician while at the University. For the four years he attended the University, Sonn was in the school's prestigious Dean’s list. The list recognizes academic excellence shown by the grade point average of the student. Four years running on the Dean’s list is a true accomplishment and looks great on a résumé for a young professional who wants to get into graduate school. However, this achievement was appreciated as more of a personal accomplishment for Sonn, who set high goals for himself in his quest to become a physician.

Being on the Dean’s list for four years is one of the reasons why Donald Sonn believes he was accepted into the competitive Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in New York. The prestigious university accepted Sonn immediately after his graduation from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1987. Here, Donald Sonn also showed himself strong in academia, achieving a new list of honors and awards while enrolled at the university for four years. In 1991, Sonn graduated from the College of Medicine and earned his Medical Degree.

The next step for Dr. Donald Sonn was to complete a residency program. Many doctors in their field of practice will take time to go through one residency; this is an acceptable form of study for many in the medical field. However, Sonn is a different type of physician who wanted to learn as much as he could, and thus completed two residency programs, spanning over six years.
