Rachel K Launched At Rooftop Party


Eduardo SaverinEduardo Saverin, one of the original Facebook founders, has an estimated $2 billion fortune. He has recently invested in a start-up cosmetics company managed by Rachel Kum who is a former Miss Singapore. It is also beleived that he  lends his business expertise to the Singaporean start up company Rachel K, which was launched recently at a rooftop party,

Saverin  is quoted as saying that,  'With a company like Facebook, it's not just three people deciding how the world communicates, it's really about providing a tool so your customers can be themselves." He further added that he is inspired to see Miss Singapore 2009 Rachel Kum  pushing her cosmetic line and admires the way she's going at it with a passion. Aside from this investment, he has also placed money into Qwiki, an information site and Jumio, an online payment service.

According to a report in Asia Tatler, Saverin hangs out at Singapore's private members club Filter in the Conrad Hotel and  has been living the good life in Singapore. He is becoming notorious in the island nation for his playboy lifestyle. Living in one of Singapore's richest neighborhoods, Saverin is often seen in the company of the rich and famous. 

It is presumed that Saverin chose to live in Singapore to escape from the tabloids and paparazzi in the US and Europe. He does not attend many public events and rarely gives interviews. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, a friend John Fearon, CEO of Singapore-based start-ups dropmysite.com and dropmyemail.com stated that "Eduardo doesn't invest in much. He doesn't invest in Singapore.  companies." The young billionaire, however, took an exception with Miss Kum's start up cosmetics company. 

The original Facebook start up team is composed of Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin,Dustin Moskovitz, Sean Parker and Chris Hughes. Facebook  is expected to share flotation ion Friday, May 18. Mark Zuckerberg is planning to start a roadshow before the initial public offering on Monday.The social networking site has 900 million members and is valued at around $79.3 billion after eight years of its inception. In contrast to Zuckenberg and Moskovitz who are not interested in the high life that is made possible by great wealths, Saverin is leading a glamorous life in Singapore.
