Time to Get Down With NHRA at Brainerd International Raceway

Get ready ladies and gents, because August 18 - 21, Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota is where it is at for NHRA action! The Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals are on the schedule and this is one race that is going to be off the hook!

Noted as the safest, as well as fastest, track in the world, Brainerd is the place to see all of your favorite drivers. John Force, Tony Schumacher, Larry Dixon, Ron Capps, Antron Brown, Brandon Bernstein, Cruz Pedregon, Greg Anderson, Warren and Kurt Johnson will be competing for their Wally, much needed prize money, and important points in the NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship race.

Brainerd is the place to see those 8000 horsepower ground pounding dragsters hit speeds of over 300 mph. They say, “YOU’VE GOT TO FEEL IT TO BELIEVE IT,” and they are not kidding. These machines can really crank out some excitement in record time as they speed down the fastest track in the circuit. There will be plenty of displays from Harley Davidson, Oakley sports and many other vendors, creating a carnival-like atmosphere in the midway of the raceway center. Go ahead and make the round in the pits and meet all the drivers. Even get some autographs!

There will be live music Thursday through Saturday and all types of great eats and drinks. Have a beer and some nachos or even a burrito. Heck, you may as well go for that long time carnival favorite, the funnel cake! This is what racing is all about folks!

If you didn’t think it could get better, just wait. There will even be fireworks every night at the races!  And just when you think there couldn’t possibly be anything more, how about a zoo on the other side of the bridge! There are all kinds of activities at the zoo for the whole family to enjoy. There is also a party wagon parade slated for the races this year!

This year’s event celebrates 30 years of drag racing at BIR while NHRA is celebrating its 60^th anniversary. The event schedule is packed with what is happening the entire weekend and I guarantee there is something on the schedule for everyone.

So make sure you get your tickets, which include your pit pass, a fan guide that keeps you on point of everything that is going on, and get the kids up early for this one. Bring your camera and come on down to Brainerd International Raceway and see why they call this “The Fastest Show on Earth”!
