Google launches a +1 button for third-party websites; Zynga releases Empires & Allies

Alliance Health Networks, developer of condition-specific social networks, raised $11 million in its latest round of funding, led by New World Ventures.

Google's content recommendation plugin competing with the Facebook Like and Twitter Retweet, +1, is now available to embed on third-party sites.

 

To compete with LivingSocial's Escapes, Groupon now has Groupon Getaways, courtesy of the company’s new partnership with Expedia.

 

Lendio, formerly called FundingUniverse.com, secured $2 million in debt financing from Square 1 Bank.

F-commerce company Milyoni plans to host its first live Social Theater concert in the U.S. this summer via Facebook.

 

 

Mindflash, a Web platform for companies to easily share knowledge and train employees, raised $4 million led by Investment Group of Santa Barbara (IGSB).

OpenChime, an Angie’s List for everything, received a $700,000 investment from Lightbank, the fund made famous for its founders’ early investment in Groupon.

UberMedia, the largest independent provider of applications for reading and posting to Twitter and other social media platforms, raised $5.6 million through DLD Ventures.

Zynga just released its newest title, Empires & Allies, the company’s first strategy combat game and the first release from its Los Angeles studio.
