No. 1 mistake: Trying to reinvent instead of iterate.

Vator’s community is the home to entrepreneurs who embrace their passion and follow their dreams.

Our newly-designed profiles allow members to express themselves by sharing their interests, lessons learned, as well as bits and pieces of their roller-coaster journey.

These profiles give entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase themselves and tell their story.

So if you are an entrepreneur, a serial entrepreneur, or even an aspiring entrepreneur, we'd like to hear from you.

Today's Entrepreneur is Evan Lowenstein, Founder & CEO of Stageit. According to his VEQ, Evan is a  thought leader and is good at team motivation and sales execution. Evan is also a singer and guitar player.

Recently named to Digital Media Wire’s list of 25 Execs to Watch in Digital Entertainment for 2011, Evan Lowenstein launched StageIt with the goal of creating a Web-based platform that would empower artists to deliver and monetize interactive live experiences. While overseeing all aspects of this groundbreaking company as CEO, Lowenstein relies on his nearly 20 years of experience in the music industry as a recording artist, award-winning writer and executive. Evan performed at this year's Splash LA event, held last night at The Highlands Hollywood.

Most recently, Lowenstein founded and served as President of HookUp Feed, a premier social networking and mobile marketing company whose clients include The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, American Airlines, Domino’s Pizza and Cold Stone Creamery. Lowenstein still remains involved with the company as a senior advisor.

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?
Technology. It's the great unknown yet so exciting with it's endless possibilities. It's like the ocean... beautiful and full of opportunity but at any moment something beneath the surface can kill you.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make?
Trying to reinvent instead of iterate.

Company Overview:

StageIt is a web-based platform created for artists by artists that empowers them to deliver and monetize interactive live experiences directly from their laptop. Offering intimacy and direct interaction with fans, StageIt gives artists the opportunity to offer unique online fan experiences that will not be archived or duplicated for distribution.

StageIt enables artists to choose when they want to perform, for how long and how much they want to charge. Artists can even use the platform’s Pay When You Can feature to offer tickets for a suggested amount and let fans increase or decrease the price depending on what they can afford. Additionally, artists can receive instant feedback on their performance via the Tip Jar feature, which allows fans to tip them in real time. The platform also greatly complements and activates other traditional and digital promotional and networking tools artists are already using.
