The social marketing company gets support from Adams Capital Management

Yet another social marketing company has raised funds--is social marketing the next Gold Rush?

SnapRetail, an online/social marketing company that works specifically with Internet retailers, announced Friday morning that it has raised $6 million in a Series A round led by Adams Capital Management

Founded in 2009, the company helps independent retailers leverage social media and online marketing to boost their sales using a unique digital marketing and content aggregation system. SnapRetail was born out of OneCoast, a 14-year-old national sales and marketing company, which SnapRetail CEO formerly led.

Focusing on issues related to "selling to" and "selling through" customers, the company's Traffic Builder solution allows retailers to create quick and easy marketing campaigns by selecting a template, uploading a customer list, and using drag and drop features to customize the campaign. When finished, the whole thing can be sent out via Facebook, Twitter, and email with one click.

Additionally, the company offers a deal platform that allows vendors to offer discounts to consumers while generating a greater flow of traffic to participating retailers.

Some of the prominent brands that have adopted SnapRetail's platform include Vera Bradley, Midwest-CBK, Mud Pie, and Yankee Candle.

The new funds will be used to pave the way for the development and launch of a series of new software products.

But with the plethora of social marketing companies out there, what sets SnapRetail apart?

"SnapRetail is the only company in the gift and home industry that helps independent retailers with the sell-through of their productthat is what sets us apart,” said SnapRetail VP of marketing Jeremy Hirsch in an email.  “Not only do we make it simple for small business owners to use email, Facebook and Twitter to market products and increase sales, we provide them with the marketing content they need.  Our TrafficBuilder product is a virtually automatic marketing system that gives them all of the materials needed to create compelling marketing communications in minutes, with branded content from leading vendors including Vera Bradley, Mud Pie and Yankee Candle."

Adams Capital Management outlined what drew them to the startup.

“SnapRetail attracted us with their exclusive relationships, ability to aggregate and distribute product and marketing content, and their vision of helping retailers with digital marketing and sales,” said Adams Capital Management partner Nikhil Sinha in a prepared statement. “The company has a management team that offers a rare blend of functional expertise in software development as well as deep industry experience."

It's been a big week for social marketing companies. Syncapse announced Thursday that it has closed $20 million of a promised $25 million round from ABS Capital Partners, and on Wednesday, Sprout Social announced its $10 million Series B round led by NEA.
