Buddy Media raised $23M; Revolution Analytics raised $8.6M; Evernote raised $20M

Stock Twits raised $4 million venture round. The funds came from existing investors. Investors include Foundry Group and True Ventures. Stock Twits featres shot updates related to the stock market. 

Evernote  raised $20 million. This was the C Series of  funding. The round was led by  Sequoia Capital. Evernote is a digital note-taking application, centered primarily around mobile phones.

Steve Jobs trashed Google and RIM phones at the Apple earnings conference call. While announcing that Apple sold 14.1 million iPhones sold last quarter, he challenged Googles assertion that it  activated 200,000 Android devices a day.

LivingSocial  is expected to buy Urban Escapes. The amount of the supposed sale has not been announced, as of yet. Urban Escapes offers adventure trips, primarily to professionals.

 

Buddy Media raised $23 million. This was the C Series of  funding. The round was led by Institutional Venture Partners. Other investors include Greycroft Partners, Bay Partners and Softbank Capital. Buddy Media is a marketing service, centered around Facebook.

Google gives users more control over location. The location settings are being moved to the left side bar, in order to make it more accessible to users, and encourage local search.

Ray Ozzie, chief software architect, at Microsoft to resign. After he leaves the company has not intention of refilling the role. He is best known for helping to get Microsoft into cloud computing.

Revolution Analytics raised $8.6 million. This was the third round of funding. Revolution Analytics makes software for computational statistics.
