HP buys Fortify, Rocket Fuel raises $10M, OtherInbox raises $1.5M, Facebook's new social feed

Rocket Fuel gets $10 million from Nokia. The company is an ad optimizer. The service hopes to give data in the short term, to allow for faster marketing decisions.

Six Apart and VideoEgg have merged to create SAY Media. The details of the merger have not been announced. This represents the end of one of the oldest standalone blog platforms.


Rumors abound that the Blackberry tablet may be announced next week. No firm release date has been announced by the company. The product hopes to compete with the iPad.


Google is suing illegal pharmacies. Drug services that Google's  believes knowingly violated the terms of its ad network are facing a civil suit. This is not Googles first attempt to rid themselves of spam ads.


Facebook is expected to announce a new friend feed update for social games. The feed will allow for more information about friends use of games like Farmville. The notificiations were orginally turned off because  non-gaming users did not find them useful.

Otoy, a maker of Server-based gaming technology, is partnering with Nvidia and Intel to make its Blue Mars virtual world. The goal will be to create a game that runs entirely on servers, and has a high image quality. This merger could change how games are played.

OtherInbox raised $1.5 million. Investors included Dave McClure, Naval Ravikant, and the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. The service currenly works with email systems like Gmail. 


MerchantCircle buys TimeBridge for an undisclosed amount. Timebridge is a meeting scheduler. The tool allows members to collaborate with one another to schedule meetings among different parties. 

HP acquires Fortify software to help with its HP Secure Advantage portfolio program. HP did not give any specifics on how Fortify would be of use in to the program.
