Facebook announced on Thursday a new Facebook and Privacy Page to act as a more fluid, real-time representative of the world of privacy encircling Facebook and online sites as a whole.
"The Facebook and Privacy Page serves as a living resource and a venue to facilitate an interactive discussion about privacy with all of you," explains Simon Axten, a manager on Facebook's public policy team. "We'll regularly post updates on relevant new content, products and news stories related to online privacy. Already you'll find a repository of online privacy resources both from Facebook and outside experts, including our video tutorials on how to choose your settings as well as links to our privacy guide and FAQs."
As Axten says, the page is launching with resources recently created by Facebook to supplement its privacy settings revamp, like a privacy guide that explains clearly and in-depth the nature of each section on the settings page and a series of video tutorials that elaborate on how privacy functions on the ever-growing social networking site.
By now, Facebook must surely understand that of its 400+ million members, not everyone might be tech savvy and skilled in figuring out how to navigate through complicated user settings. Facebook is likely for this very reason launching this extended suite of help articles, videos, and pages.
Users are encouraged to like the Facebook and Privacy Page so that they can receive the latest updates, including tips and news, on their News Feed.
Feel strongly about any of the new changes on Facebook? Anyone can submit feedback at a dedicated privacy feedback page setup by Facebook.
