A little over a month ago we partnered with Elance to carry out, "The New Way to Work" competition.  The competition called for startup companies, entrepreneurs and independent professionals to share an inspirational story about the way they work.

The whole idea behind it is to showcase the fact that people are working in a much different manner these days than the traditional form of going to an office Monday through Friday from nine-to-five and working in a cubicle.

Over a hundred companies uploaded their stories through video, images, presentations and articles across Vator and other destinations on the Web.

Elance has narrowed these down to ten finalists.  The finalists entries were judged based on three criteria:  Creativity and Innovation, Quality of the Message, and Inspiration to the community.  The particpants ranged from graphic artists working at home for clients around the world to stay-at-home moms building global businesses.

On Tuesday of next week we'll find out the lucky winner who gets either $10,000 in cash or a years worth of health insurance premiums for their company.

Here's the finalists:

Pamela Swingley

Salma Jafri

Qittle

Julie Trade Levitch

Wesley Asbell

Michael Rodrigues

Mary Baker

Benjamin Gran

Scott Young

Muhammad Ahmed
