Career network launches to help students through the recession

One of the bigger casualties of the recession is college students as financial aid and internships start to dry out.  A startup on a mission to help students market themselves globally in these tough times is nuResume.com. Students can create a free personalized multimedia web page with a blog to showcase their strengths and post what they're looking for - including freelance projects, internships, scholarships and college transfers. nuResume also lets career centers, students clubs and employers launch virtual career networks completely free.

In the three months of beta, nuResume has signed up thousands of students, various honor societies such as Alpha Omicron Nu, associations such as MESA, companies such as PG&E  and career centers such as Foothill College

Founder, CEO  Reena A Jadhav,  also shares in the interview  her ideas behind the "student powered economy" to save billions of dollars currently going to offshore outsourcing firms. Almost every company has small projects that can be done by a student here in our country but what's missing is a platform to support that, and nuResume aims to be the missing link.  If just a million students do a $100 project each month, we bring back into our economy over a  billion dollars while helping our students.

We, at Vator, are doing our part by posting a virtual project on nuResume and hope other startups do so as well! To post a project or internship free, click here.
