payleven received $10M; RKSV raised $4M; Jisto closed a $2.45M Seed funding

LetterOne, a Luxembourg-based private equity and venture capital firm headed by Mikhail Fridman, invested $200 million in Uber. This new investment is a drop in the bucket for Uber, which raised $4.8 billion last year across several rounds led by Baidu, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and Indian media company Bennett, Coleman, and Company.
IdealSpot, an Austin, Texas, web-based commercial real estate mapping and analysis solution, raised $1 million in seed funding. The round was led by ATX Seed Ventures with participation from angel investors including Sean Greenberg, CEO of Pluckers. The company intends to use the funds for initial launch and market-expansion across the United States.
MilliDrop, which designs and develops cell culture machines based on millifluidics technology for bacteriological research and diagnosis purposes, announced a €1 million fund-raising from Seventure Partners’s Quadrivium 1 seed fund. The company will use the money to start producing trial runs of its first machine, the MilliDrop Analyzer.
Oncostellae, a San Cibrao das Viñas, Spain-based biotech company that discovers and develops small molecule drugs for the treatment of cancer, raised $1 million in seed funding. Backers included Inveready. The company intends to use the funds to continue to advance its prostate and hematologic cancer programs and to consolidate the Neogalfarma project, in collaboration with Galchimia, AMSLab and Nanogap.
Gorgias, a NY-based helpdesk software built to provide support at scale, raised $1.5 million in seed funding. Backers included Charles River Ventures, Amplify Partners and Kima Ventures. The company intends to use the funds to hire new people and continue to build the product.
Jisto, a novel enterprise solution for maximizing computer resource utilization, closed a $2.45 million in seed financing led by Boston-based .406 Ventures. Jisto will debut its Elastic Workload Manager at Container World 16 in Santa Clara, CA on February 17-18. Jisto will use the funding to continue to build out engineering, sales and marketing. .406 Ventures Partner Greg Dracon and Managing Partner Maria Cirino will join Jisto’s board of directors.
British cybersecurity company SafeToNet landed £3 million in capital and resources from DuKlaw Ventures, a Swiss-based investment firm. The company, based in Reading, develops technology to help protect social media and social network users from online abuse. SafeToNet is expected to launch in later this year.
Online discount stock brokerage platform RKSV, raised $4 million (around Rs 27.3 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Kalaari Capital. The round also participation from health care tech firm GVK Davix Technologies Pvt Ltd and other undisclosed investors. Vani Kola, MD at Kalaari Capital will join RKSV’s board, the company said. Raghu Kumar, co-founder and head of operations at RKSV told Techcircle.in said that the funds will be used for product development, developing a suite of products for its newly launched trading app Upstox and hiring key personnel for its tech vertical.
Germany-based mobile point-of-sales (mPOS) startup payleven is announced a fresh $10 million in funding, bringing its total capital raised to $51 million. The mobile payments company, which is duking it out with iZettle and SumUp in Europe, has attracted a new investor to its Series D funding round with the addition of Seventure Partners. The new cash will be used to foster payleven’s growth through ‘the expansion into new products and the acceleration of customer acquisition’.
