At Splash Oakland, Kennedy gave a convincing presentation about the future of solar

Danny Kennedy, co-founder and President of Sungevity, took the stage at Vator Splash Oakland to share his very provocative and convincing case for why solar is going to take over the world.

He first started by criticizing today's processes to produce electricity.

Coil, oil and gas are burned and it's a very "ugly, stupid, dangerous process... We then boil water to drive a machine invented 200 million years ago," he said. "We burn stuff and boil water to drive steam turbines." This is not "simple elegance."

"Along comes an American invention 1954, just 60 years ago, the photovoltaic - a solar panel," he said.

Solar is like "the automobile to the horse."
