Seed stage

Meducation, a medical education network aimed at medical students and professionals, completed a $1 million seed funding round from Technology Strategy Board and private investors. 

1248, a b2b startup that sells Internet of Things software and services, raised a £250,000 ($415,000) seed round from Rob Dobson.

Aislelabs, which provide retailers with big data analytics, raised $1.5 million in funding from IAF, Rho Ventures, Salesforce and a number of angel investors.

Verdasys, a security firm that specializes in endpoint data protection, raised $12 million from Brookline Ventures. 

Stir, the creator of a smart height-adjustable desk, secured $1.5 million in seed investment led by Vegas TechFund, Josh Makower, John R. Woodard, Richard Klein, and several Apple alumni.

Crowdtap, a social influence marketing platform, raised $5 million in Series B funding led by Foundry Group with participation from Tribeca Venture Partners, Alta Communications and The Mustang Group.

Gigwalk, a software platform for consumer brands, raised a $10 million round led by Nokia Growth Partners.  Randstad Holding nv, August Capital, Harrison Metal and SoftTech also participated. 

Upverter, an online electronic design automation platform and hardware hacker community, raised $2.3 million in seed funding, from Version One Ventures, along wioth Tom McInerney, Carl Bass, Amol Sarva, David Lerner and Golden Venture Partners.

MachineShop, an API-centric middleware for the Internet of Services, came out of stealth mode with $3 million from CSR, Diebold, and Xchanging.

Location-pinpointing startup what3words raised $1 million from several unnamed private investors.

Messaging app Chatwala raised $625,000 in a seed round. The  funding came from individual investors.

 

Early stage

Augmedix, a Google Glass powered e-health service, raised $3.2 million from DCM and Emergence Capital Partners.

Business data startup LeanData closed $5.1 million in Series A funding. Shasta Ventures led the round with participation from Felicis Ventures, Correlation Ventures and the Funders Club.

Blue River Technology, creator of technology to improve agriculture, raised $10 million in funding led by Data Collective Venture Capital. Innovation Endeavors and Khosla Ventures also participated.

Cloud-based developer platform Nitrous.IO secured $6.65 million in Series A funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round with participation from 500 Startups, Crunchfund, Eduardo Saverin and Golden Gate Ventures.

WedPics, a platform for sharing wedding photos, raised $1 .5 million in Series A financing, led by IDEA Fund Partners. Great Oaks Venture Capital, TAP, Bob Young, Jed Carlson and other private angel investors participated.

Reonomy, a commercial real estate tech company, secured $3.7 million in Series A funding. SoftBank Capital led the round with participation from Resolute Ventures, High Peaks Venture Partners, KEC Ventures and FinTech Collective.

Cloud4Wi, a provider of next generation cloud Wi-Fi solutions, raised $4 million in a Series A funding round from United Ventures.

AltSchool, a network of micro-schools that offers personalized education for children, closed $33 million in Series A financing led by Founders Fund and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from First Round Capital, Harrison Metal, Learn Capital and Omidyar Network.

Asian startup hub Joyful Frog Digital Incubator raised SGD 2.7 million ($2.1 million) from Infocomm Investments, SpinUp Partners and Fenox Venture Capital with private investors from the Philippines, Vijay Saraff, Paul Burmester and Thomas Gorissen.

Health insurance marketplace Gravie raised $10.5 million in a Series A financing round led by Aberdare Ventures with FirstMark Capital also participating.

Amplify Partners, a venture capital firm exclusively focused on Infrastructure 2.0 technology, closed its first fund at $49,100,000 of committed capital.

Bitvore Corporation, a developer of intelligence gathering and big data mining systems, closed a Series A funding round of $4.5 million led by Yuri Pikover, along with crowdfunding sources. 

Pley, a service that acts as a Netflix for toys, raised $6.75 million in a Series A round of funding led by Allegro Venture Partners, with help from Floodgate, Correlation Ventures, Maven Ventures, and Western Technology Investments.

App crowdtesting startup Testbirds closed a €2.1 million ($2.9 million) Series A round, led by Seventure Partners.

Procured Health, a producer of solutions that streamline medical products evaluation and purchasing by healthcare providers, raised $4 million in a Series A funding round led by FCA Venture Partners.

Binary Fountain, an SaaS based social intelligence company, secured $5.7 million in funding led by Pioneer Venture Partners.

Gigas, a cloud hosting provider, raised $2.7 million in funding from Cabiedes & Partners, Bonsai Venture Capital and Caixa Capital Risc.

Invenias, a provider of software solutions to the executive search and strategic recruitment sector, raised $2 million from MMC Ventures and Mark Farmer.

 

Late stage

Transcript exchange platform Parchment raised $10 million in a round led by The Raine Group, with participation from Novak Biddle Venture Partners, GSV Capital, Salmon River Capital and ICG Holdings.

Cross-platform CRM tool Base raised a $15 million Series B funding round led by RRE Ventures, Index Ventures and OCA Ventures. Social+Capital, Hyde Park Venture Partners, I2A Fund and angel investors also participated.

Platfora, a big data analytics software company, raised $38 million investment led by Tenaya Capital. Citi Ventures, Cisco, Allegis Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Battery Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures and In-Q-Tel also participated. 

Cloudera, an enterprise analytic data management company, raised $160 million led by T. Rowe Price, along with three other public market investors, Google Ventures and an affiliate of MSD Capital.

Content marketing platform Percolate raised $24 million in Series B financing. Sequoia Capital led the round with participation from GGV Capital, First Round Capital, Lerer Ventures and WPP.

Simply Measured, a social media analytics and measurement solution, raised a $20 million Series C round of funding led by Trinity Ventures with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Four Rivers Group, MHS Capital and other existing investors.

SimpleTution, which seeks to make it easier for students and their families to afford a higher education, raised $26 million from Flybridge Capital Partners, Atlas Venture and North Hill Ventures.

Video discovery startup Boxfish raised $7 million from Atlantic Bridge Ventures, along with Samsung.

Mobile payment startup Ezetap raised an disclosed amount of funding from American Express. 

YouNoodle, a data-driven startup recruitment engine, raised $1.1 million in funding from VegasTechFund, Lars-Henrik Friis Molin and Amicus Group of Korea.

VoltDB raised $8 million in a Series B funding round led by a "Silicon Valley luminary" with participation from two additional independent investors as well as Sigma Partners and Kepha Partners.

Mobile video chat app Tango raised a funding round of $280 million. $215 million came from Alibaba, with the other $65 million coming from previous investors.

Saffron Technology, a cognitive systems company, closed a $7 million Series B investment round from unnamed investors. 

Coupa Software, a provider of cloud-based solutions for finance, closed a $40 million Series F investment round led by Meritech Capital, with participation from Icon Ventures, Northgate Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Mohr Davidow Ventures, Battery Ventures, El Dorado Ventures, and Blue Run Ventures.

Venture Capital firm Accel Partners raised a total of $1.475B for two funds: Accel XII and Growth III.
