- AAVantgarde Bio, a clinical-stage, biotechnology company pioneering therapies for inherited retinal diseases, raised a $141 million Series B financing round co-led by a new lead, Schroders Capital, as well as existing investors Atlas Venture and Forbion. Other new investors included Amgen Ventures, Athos Capital, CDP Venture Capital through its Large Ventures Fund, Columbia IMC, Neva SGR, Sixty Degree Capital, XGen Venture, and Willett Advisors. AAVantgarde also received continued support from existing investors Longwood Fund and Sofinnova Partners
- Amae Health, a Public Benefit Corporation and provider of outpatient treatment for severe mental illness, raised a $25 million Series B round led by Altos Ventures with participation from all existing investors, including Quiet Capital, Bling Capital, Cedars-Sinai Ventures, Healthier Capital, and 8VC
- Sovato, a company enabling healthcare organizations to implement and scale remote robotic surgery and procedure programs, raised a Series B round of funding led by Beringea, with follow-on investments from existing investors including Polaris Partners, Intuitive, GS Ventures, Laerdal Million Lives Fund, Puma Venture Capital, Teladoc Health, and other private investors

- Pluro, a company with the goal of creating a single national platform for IVF and fertility treatment, raised a $14 million Series A from Bessemer Venture Partners
- Ad Scientiam, a company specializing in digital biomarkers dedicated to the continuous, real-life monitoring of serious and debilitating diseases, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from TechLife Capital

- Flint, an AI-powered education platform transforming how students learn and teachers teach, raised a $15 million Series A co-led by Basis Set Ventures and Patron. The round includes participation from USC Viterbi, AME Cloud Ventures and Matt Pittinsky, with follow-on investments from Afore Capital and Y Combinator
- WeWillWrite, which helps teachers create a social and safe environment where students can practice writing through play, raised €2 million in a round led by Skyfall Ventures and Spintop Ventures. Going public
- Molecular diagnostics firm BillionToOne raised $273.1 million in its U.S. initial public offering, selling about 4.6 million shares priced at $60 apiece in the IPO, compared with its targeted range of $49 and $55, giving it a potential valuation of about $2.64 billion
Fund News
- Ventures Platform secured a $64 million first close for its new $75 million fund, which will focus on fintech, healthtech, agritech, edtech, and AI
- Pitango, one of Israel’s longest established venture capital firms, raised $300 million for two early-stage investment and seed funds – Pitango First and Pitango HealthTech
Policy and government
- President Trump announced deals that aim to lower the cost of popular weight-loss drugs. Speaking alongside drug executives at the White House, Trump unveiled agreements with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Consumers are set to pay between $245 and $350 per month for obesity drugs including Wegovy and Zepbound. The deals will also expand Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk’s access to Medicare and Medicaid
- Cornell University agreed to pay $60 million and accept the Trump administration’s interpretation of civil rights laws in order to restore federal funding and end investigations into the Ivy League school, including $30 million directly to the U.S. government along with another $30 million toward research that will support U.S. farmers

- Tom Brady, six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and current Fox Sports broadcaster said in a statement from a company he is an investor in that his dog, Junie, is a clone of his late dog, Lua.
