Company description

Triflare is an apparel company designed with every level of the woman competitor in mind.  Our mission is to provide women athletes on all skill levels with gear that is beautiful but hard driving, daring but unrelenting, uncommon but competitive…just like the women who choose Triflare apparel.  Athletes display an impressive amount of self-discipline and controlled energy; we offer them the chance to show these talents with flare. Founder, Andrea Robertson has competed in 104 triathlons in the last 14 years including the national age group championship in 2009 and qualified for Team USA to compete at the World Championships. Triflare’s creative director is Kim McClean, a triathlete herself. Laura Kathleen, a local established fashion designer and Project Runway All-Star, helps create the fashions for Triflare. Our other team members include 2 patternmakers, a sublimation printing company, 2 seamstresses and a U.S. manufacturer. Our other team members are the athletes that wear Triflare while accomplishing their fitness goals.

Business model

In year one and two our products will be distributed through our website, at event expos held during triathlon events, and through specialty retailers who cater to triathletes, competitive runners and bikers. Suggested retail price is 100% of wholesale.  The average Triflare margin for product sold through retailers is  50% and for direct sales Triflare margins is 75%

Triflare marketst in cities where we have established relationships with specialty stores and premier triathlon events.  We market at races and produce high quality Look Books that can be sent to retailers in our 2014 target markets.  We will grow in 2014 by adding additional stores in our existing markets and adding additional markets.

Competitive advantage

The Triflare difference is not only a new spirit of style, but also, we are filling a gap for veteran athletes as well as beginning participants who want to express themselves in apparel that makes a statement. Triflare is unique in offering a variety of different options for those athletes that don’t want to blend in with the other competitors. Triflare is for the modern woman athlete: bold, determined, and hungry for the best.
