Company description

Appstores is a platform to launch turn-key appstores on the web and mobile (HTML5). Our mission is to provide developers with the best monetization and distribution. We are working with a number of platforms to power their app galleries and a number of publishers to launch their specific niche vertical appstores (eg: ESPN Sports App Store, Disney for Family Friendly App Store).

We closed an angel round of $590k in August of 2010, from 500 Startups (Dave McClure), Alfred Lin (Zappos), Sand Hill Angels, Seraph Group, Zelkova VC, Quest VP, Thomas McInerney, Erik Moore, and friends and family.

Business model

Our business model is broken down into 3 segments.

1. App Galleries for Platforms (SaaS, monthly fee)

2. Appstores for Publishers (SaaS, annual fee + rev share)

3. Allow developers to buy placement across our network of appstores (CPC/CPA)

Competitive advantage

Existing relationships with platforms, publishers, and developers. All of our appstores are Facebook Connect enabled, allowing for extremely relevant app recommendations based on the social and interest graphs.
