Invent Health with Dr. Archana Dubey and Bambi Francisco Roizen; Episode 8

Vator · Invent Health Episode 8

The Invent Health weekly podcast with Dr. Archana Dubey and Bambi Francisco Roizen is the only weekly podcast that breaks down the latest digital health news of the week and what it means for patients, providers and payers (or who's paying). Plus a deep dive on a particular topic to help listeners understand how innovation is changing the healthcare paradigm.

This week's episode, Archana and Bambi go over Amazon's push into mental health offering a crisis hotline and Google's push into AI-driven dermatology. The new field is called teledermatology. The new app is called Derm Assist. They also cover JP Morgan's foray into healthcare again. This time, the company is creating its own internal unit to provide healthcare services for its own 285,000 employees. It also plans on investing $250 million in startups in the healthcare space. Sounds like JP Morgan is interested in financing the new opportunities in the biggest growth industry today - healthcare. Also in the news, Ro buys Modern Fertility and Future Family, another fertility startup, raises $9 million. Episode 9 will take a deep dive into why fertility is so hot.

The deep dive of the week focused on debriefing the Future of Mental and Behavioral Health event. What were their takeaways and companies they liked or loved? Tune in.

Editor's note: On June 9, we'll continue our Future of Mental and Behavioral Health 2021 virtual series. This year's event hosted top-level VCs and C-level executives from the leading mental and behavioral companies, such as Teladoc's BetterHelp, BetterUp, Ginger, Amwell, Doctor on Demand, Kaiser Permanente, Bessemer Ventures and more.
