Avaamo is using conversational AI to make learning about the virus easier

There's a lot of misinformation regarding the coronavirus out there. Some of it is intentional, while plenty more is well-meaning, but still wrong. In a world of quick tweets and social shares, navigating through information regarding the virus that is putting the world on lockdown can be tough.

Yes, there are reputable sources like the CDC, WHO, and NIH, but it can be time-consuming to look through if you are trying to find something specific - especially for specific locations and questions. Project COVID is hoping to change that.

Available to everyone, Avaamo is using its conversational AI (normally used for businesses to create robust chatbots) to help people out by providing sourced, accurate information through an easy-to-use interface.

It is a helpful resource and after testing it for a while, not once did it get hung up on a question. Some answers do require you to leave the chatbox to learn more, but many answers are provided directly in the chat, allowing you to research quickly and efficiently.

It has a list of basic questions that can start your on your information journey (using sourced information from sites like CDC and WHO) and from there you can also ask more specific questions - like the number of confirmed cases in your state or protective measures you can take at home.

Avaamo also notes that the chatbot is available to basically anyone that wants to add it to their own website by contacting them to learn more about the widget.
