Email enhancement service, Mixmax, raises $10.35 million in funding round

The money will go towards expanding the team, as well as growing the platform

It's pretty safe to say that if you're reading this article that email is a part of your daily life. We all use it; sometimes to keep up with family, sometimes to sign up for newsletters and to get delivery confirmations, and more often than not, we're using email to correspond in our professional lives.

While there have been many startups that have tried to replace traditional email, it isn't going anywhere, and instead startups like Mixmax are focusing on making enhancements to our tried and true email platforms like Gmail.

Announced earlier in the week, Mixmax has raised $10.35 million dollars from Creandum’s Carl Fritjofsson and SaaStr’s Jason Lemkin. Previous investors Michael Dearing, Harrison Metal and Floodgate also participated in this funding round.

Basically, Mixmax is looking to improve the email experience, specifically for business. Users will be able to track emails to see who has opened them, even in group emails and one-click calendar integrations making setting up appointments easy, while also allowing for embeddable calendars. Users can also create and use templates on the fly while directly in their email platform. You can also create polls, add Giphy integration, and insert visual previews of links. There's quite a bit available, with more features on the way.

Currently, Mixmax can be used with Gmail, Inbox by Google, and Salesforce, but this funding will help the growing team expand into other email services.
