Today's Entrepreneur: Matthew Williamson
No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make? Thinking that investor money can solve a business problem
Today's entrepreneur is Matthew Williamson, co-founder of Push Health. Push Health was founded with a simple idea: every medical provider should be able to care for his or her network using great technology tools. Their core technology enables any licensed medical provider to simply and securely send a prescription or lab order to any patient with an email address. Since 2013, thousands of patients and providers have connected through Push Health and benefited from increased access, convenience and price transparency.
The platform delivers 100% price transparency for virtual visits with fees set by the individual providers, lab testing with the Quest Diagnostics integration, "pay-per-visit" medical malpractice insurance, and more.
Here's a little bit about Matthew:
Entrepreneur
If you are an entrepreneur, why?
I am a builder. I want to empower people.
GrubHub, Square, Thumbtack
Always wanting things to happen quickly, but understanding that sustainable growth happens at a natural pace.
Thinking that investor money can solve a business problem.
Try not to manage for the outlier event.
Get to profitability quickly.
Build a system where new team members can get to break-even quickly ie creating more value for the company than they are taking.
Whether managing the US Government's largest privatization, merging industrial giants Alcoa and Reynolds Metals, or helping defense companies go public after 9/11, I enjoy being involved in important industries with big challenges. I had shunned healthcare for years after growing up as a pathologist's son and hospital administrator's grandson. The tide definitely turned when he married an ER doctor and teamed up with Chirag to start Accesa Health and Accesa Labs.
When I am not chasing around my two daughters and son, I can generally be found at a local CrossFit box or chipping golf balls around my yard.
Push Health competed at our Vator Splash LA Global competition 2016.

We started Push Health to empower any licensed medical provider with a mobile device to provide virtual and mobile care to their patients anytime, anywhere for 100% transparent prices. By doing so, we are creating the largest US-based "patient-pay" marketplace for everyday health services.
We are working to "democratize" access to everyday healthcare services by providing our integrated software platform to 3,000+ doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants located in all 50 US states, DC and Puerto Rico.
The platform delivers 100% price transparency for virtual visits with fees set by the individual providers, lab testing with the Quest Diagnostics integration, "pay-per-visit" medical malpractice insurance, and more.
