You can bid to meet him and other VCs while donating money to cancer research

Do you have a great idea for a new start-up but you live too far away from Silicon Valley to ever pitch your idea?

Now you have the chance to meet some of Silicon Valley’s biggest venture capitalists, and you will be giving to worthy cause to do it.

Going on right now is the 2012 Venture Capital Master's Lunch Series benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Greater San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, presented by the Motion to Dismiss Cancer.

Here’s how it works: there are six auctions on eBay, each one with a chance to meet one-on-one with a different venture capitalist or CEO. You can ask them anything you want, or pitch them your ideas.

The first auction is for an opportunity to meet with SVAngel co-founder David Lee along with partners Topher Conway, Kevin Carter and Robert Pollack. It's currently live and ends April 19. The current eBay bid is $1,025.

Some of the other people you can bid on to meet: Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster, founding president of Facebook and co-founder of venture firm Founders Fund; Rock Health CEO Halle Tecco; and Pulse co-founders Akshay Kothari and Ankit Gupta.

The auctions last for 10 days and are concurrent, with the last auction ending on June 7.

While the ultimate goal of the auction is obviously to benefit cancer research (all profits will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) there are added benefits to allowing people from far reaching places have the opportunity to pitch their ideas.

In an interview with VatorNews, Motion to Dismiss Cancer campaign manager Christina Resasco said that by auctioning off meetings with high profile venture capitalists, they are giving the bidders the “chance of a lifetime” to pitch their ideas to people they would not have access to otherwise.

At the same time, it is a good opportunity for the investors as well. It is a chance for them find the next big start-up outside of Silicon Valley, as they are going to be exposed to a different audience, one that would normally have a chance to meet, and hear different ideas.

Bids are coming from all over the world, from places like Cambodia, Poland and France.

The Motion to Dismiss Cancer held a previous auction in 2010, where they offered celebrity give-aways, like a chance to watch Sammy Hagar perform in the studio and a chance to meet Carlos Santana. They also auctioned off a meeting with the CEO of eBay as well as meeting with Tim Draper, founder of venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson. That auction raised around $45,000 to $50,000.

This year Resasco says they plan to raise upwards of $150,000.
