Interview With Peter Vesterbacka, “Mighty Eagle” of Rovio Mobile Ltd.

Founded in 2003, Rovio Mobile Ltd., like many startups, underwent several years of uncertainty and nearly went under before their eventual rise to mobile gaming eminence with the worldwide phenomenon Angry Birds. Born out of a mobile game development competition sponsored by HP, the story of Rovio provides one case study of the role HP has played with successful startups. We interviewed Rovio’s “Mighty Eagle” (yes, that’s his official title) Peter Vesterbacka, a 14-year veteran of HP himself, as he reflects on the startup’s origins and road to success.

We have the fortunate opportunity to meet and talk with some of the most inspiring entrepreneurs in the world and Vesterbacka is a prime example. We’ve split his interview into two videos, one focused on the story behind the massively successful game and the other around the lessons on entrepreneurship that Vesterbacka has learned in Rovio’s ascension to the app store elite.

From concept to realized success, hear about how it all started in our HP Startup Central “Case Study: Angry Birds, Rovio Mobile Ltd.
