Poptent raised $3 million; ShopSocially $1.1 million; Kontiki $10.7 million, Goby $2.5 million
Apple announced a bevy of new products. The announcements include a new operating system, OS X 10.7, new Macbook Airs, a version FaceTime for Mac, currently in beta, and an new iLife suite.
244,237 Germans choose not to be included in Google's street views. The privacy conscious will not be included in the service. This represents roughly 2% of Germany's population.
Goby raised $2.5 million. This was the Series A round of funding. Investors include Flybridge Capital Partners and Kepha Partners. This brings the company’s total funding raised to $7.5 million.
OpenFeint raised $3 million. This brings the company's total funding raised tol $12 million. OpenFeint is a mobile social platform.
Ebay released its Q3 finical report late Wednesday. Turns out, it generates 37% of its revenue from PayPal. In Q3 the total revenue raised was $2.238 billion.
Poptent raised $3 million in funding. The round was led by MK Capital. Poptent was formerly known as XLNTads. The company creates video ad campaigns for companies.
ShopSocially raised $1.1 million, in the Series A round of funding. The round was led by Valhalla Partners. Other investors include Ashish Gupta, Raman Khanna, and Dharmesh Thakker.
Kontiki raised $10.7 million. This was the Series B round of funding. The round was led by MK Capital. Other investors included New World Ventures and Cross Creek Capital.
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers expetced to announce a Facebook fund. The company is expected to make an announcement this morning about a fund, geared at social media, and a great deal of speculation surrounds the notion that it will be giving some of that money to Facebook.
EA bought Angry Birds. No specific terms of the deal were announced at this time.
