Eventbrite raises $20M, AppNexus raises $50M, Yahoo buys Dapper
AppNexus raised $50 million in a Series C round of funding. Investors including Microsoft, Venrock, Kodiak Venture Partners, and First Round Capital.
Eventbrite has raised $20 million. This was the Series D round of funding. It was led by DAG Ventures.
Other investors include Tenaya Capital, and Sequoia Capital.
Internet traffic is up 62% in 2010, according to research by Telegeography. Largest growing areas were in places like Eastern Europe and India.
Twitter to serve country-specific advertising, Dick Costolo, the new CEO of Twitter told The Telegraph in an Interview. This will be done through its Promoted Tweets and Promoted Trends products.
Turns out Teens love Steve Jobs. At least according to the 2010 Junior Achievement Teens and Entrepreneurship survey. He beat out other web based entrepreneurs, like Mark Zuckerberg.
Zynga is teaming up with McDonalds. A vague tweet promises users, "Pay them a visit and earn exclusive items!" This comes after the recent addition of McDonalds themes items to the game's inventory.
Yahoo is buying Dapper for an undisclosed amount. Dapper is a mashup technology, which is designed to bring together search-based ads and display ads. In 2007, Dapper raised $3 million in series A funding led by Accel Partners and Mitch Kapor.
