Retail Solutions raises $15.2M, Google to intergrate more social features, EA applies analytics


Retail Solutions raised $15.2 million, in its C series of funding. The round was led by Investor Growth Capital. The company makes a variety of software tools for retailers.

Nielsen released a study of mobile devices, centered most heavily around the iPad, the Kindle and smart phones.It studied many aspects of the users. Most notably, it  found that iPad users are more receptive to ads.

Wordpress for iOS added video compliance. Users will now be able to play, record, upload, and attach videos from inside the the application. This step is part of a larger features roll out.

At the Zeitgeist 2010 conference, Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, said that the plan to "take Google's core products and add a social component," according to Reuters. This means that they will attempt to weave social components into Google's existing products.

Electroic Arts is providing analytics for in game advertising. The analytics, which will be provided by nPario, will be servicing the over 100 advertisers that use EA's games as a promotional venue.

Redbeacon is expanding into Seattle. They have also launched an embeddable widget. Early parteners in these new ventures include:SFGate, NBC and Fox 13. Redbeacon focuses on providing information about local service provders.


Microsoft overstated the number of active blogs it has, by a lot. As it turns out, Microsoft expects Wordpress to gain only 1% of the originally stated 30 million active users in their new deal.

eSellerPro raised £2 million . The round was led by Notion Capital. eSellerPro is an e-commerce platform.
