GoDaddy for sale; Google buys Quicksee for $10M; Fitbit raises $8M; Facebook burglars caught
GoDaddy is for sale. As of Saturday the Web registration company will be accepting bids to buy them out. The sale will be managed by Qatalyst Partners, a boutique firm run by veteran technology banker Frank Quattrone.
Facebook launched a new app designed to help users find what they like. The app, called Discover

Fitbit has raised $8 million in a second round of funding, according to an SEC filing. Fitbit makes devices that track your daily activity levels and an estimated calories burned. The company raised $2 million in its first round of funding in 2008.
Google is buying Quiksee, a virtual tour company, for an estimated $10 million. The company is also known as MentorWave Technologies, and it is based in Israel.
iPad with wifi avaliable in China in September 17th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Costs will run CNY3988 for 16GB, CNY4788 for 32GB and CNY5588 for 64GB.
People are spending more time of Facebook than on Google. Americans spent 41 million minutes in August, vs Google at 39.8 million and Yahoo at 37.7 million, according to a comScore study.
Facebook burglars are caught. Mario Rojas, Leonardo Barroso, and Victor Rodriguez used local Facebook posts about travel plans to know when users were not at home. Facebook, of course, denies any involvement in the plan.
Billboard to help artists track their buzz. The tracking will include radio airplay, blog posts, and social media sites such as Twitter. The service will work in collaboration with MySpace, and will include a large buzz ranking system.
HP hopes to buy ArcSight, the security software maker, for $1.5 billion. While no specific data has been set for the buyout, rumors abound that it will be in the next few days. ArcSight's stock closed on Friday at $35.10.
Microsoft throws a mock funeral. Microsoft threw late Friday a mock funeral for iPhone and BlackBerry in celebration of the anticipated release of the Windows 7 phone, scheduled for October. At the funeral employees did Thriller.
