Here's a few sappy love stories revolving around Facebook...and a breakup story

With Valentine's Day looming around the corner, pretty much whole Internet is doing something to show support of the...I guess you can call it a holiday.  On Twitter, it's a trending topic of course.  Facebook on the other hand went all out and decided to share three sappy, almost Hollywood-style love stories on its blog.

The three stories follow one similar theme - finding your true love on Facebook.

The first tale chronicles a young divorced woman who posted a wall update which voiced "her frustration with the game of dating."  She got a response from an old elementary school friend which apparently struck her and before she knew it, she was getting married to a comic book drawing posted as a link on her lovers wall.

The second tells a story of a widowed man who apparently is in the process of getting remarried with someone only a year after his wife's death.

And the last involves some sort of a fire drill.

I won't go any further on this, but just wanted to comment on the subject of love on Facebook because in my case, the social network has caused nothing but trouble.  I'm proud to say I was one of those that would constantly fight with my lover due to Facebook comments, posts, photos, etc...which ultimately was probably part of why we broke up and I have no Valentine this year.

There's actually a study which was released in Britain which found 20% of divorces in the country had something to do with Facebook. From the Telegraph's article:

"Last year a 28-year-old woman ended her marriage after discovering her husband had been having a virtual affair with someone in cyberspace he had never met."

or this one which takes the cake...

"One 35-year-old woman even discovered her husband was divorcing her via Facebook."

Anyways, check out Facebook's blog post for the full stories and some Valentine's Day fun, or gagging.  Let's expect to see a movie soon.
