Video streaming still on the rise
Nielsen reports online video streams for month of November up 17% year-over-year
Online video consumption is still on the rise. Nielsen on Tuesday reported year-over, unique viewers, total streams, streams per viewer and time per viewer were up, led by 17 percent growth in total streams for the month of November.
YouTube, of course is still ranked as the top brand coming in with around 6.7 billion total streams for the month of November. Hulu is ranked number two, but still significantly behind YouTube with 656 million total streams. The rest of the brands listed didn't even break 200 million total streams.
At the same time year-over-year streaming is on the rise, month-over-month total streams were down .5%.
Facebook isn't on this list but in October of this year, the social networking giant saw 217.8 million total video streams. Year-over-year the increase in time was 1,840 percent, from 34.9 million minutes in October 2008 to 677 million minutes in October 2009 .
With the rise of people spending time on social networking destinations we should expect to see Facebook on these lists in the near future.
