Dancing with the Star, Tony Dovolani is set to star in upcoming comedy, "Pumping Up"

June 20, 2009 ~ Tony Dovolani is set to star in Angel Light Pictures upcoming comedy, "Pumping Up."

PUMPING UP from Angel Light Pictures, an Independent film written by Peter Papageorgiou is targeted to shoot late this year in Queens, NY and in a studio in Granby, Massachusetts.

The story revolves around three local friends who work out at an old gym. Dancing with the Star, Tony Dovolani is set to star as, TOMMY, a weight-lifter who joins his friends every year in the annual "Mr.Hercules" weightlifting contest. The film will depict how the competition affects their lives and personal relationships. Looking at a 1970's & 1980's remix soundtrack. Think of Saturday Night Fever in a gym!

Antonio Saillant, owner of Angel Light Pictures will executive produce and Tony Timpone, longtime editor of both Fangoria Magazine and its website, Fangoria.com, Robert Stock, owner of Stocks Eye will produce.

In addition, NY's #1 Dance Radio station WKTU, with their number 1 DJ-Goumba Johnny playing himself.

Joining "Pumping Up" is J. ROBERT SPENCER, best known for his role as NICK MASSI in JERSEY BOYS, which won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical. Now that former Jersey Boy star J. Robert Spencer is now starring in new smash hit, "Next to Normal," which has received great reviews from "The New York Times" and "Variety," and just nominated for 11 Tony Awards (2009), which includes Spencer for a nomination as Best Actor in a Musical. Saillant produced the anticipated indie film, HETEROSEXUALS, written and directed by Robert McCaskill and executive produced by Spencer himself.

Making her acting debut is MADELYN RODRIGUEZ best known as the Million Dollar Baby on the radio show The Mega After Party on La Mega 97.9 FM(lamega.com). Madelyn started her career as a Reporter for People en Español Magazine(People Spanish Edition), the leading and best selling Spanish magazine in the United States. Currently she works for CBS National TV News covering national and international breaking news stories.

Angel Light Pictures made their producing debut with the thriller "THE ASCENSION," starring Corbin Bernsen. Other expected works for Saillant include: "THE EXPENDABLES" and the chilling thriller "BLOOD CAULDRON," and the epic drama "1066," which will be directed by Robin Jacobs and produced by Ted Kotcheff.

In addition, Angel Light Pictures is producing an animated Christmas holiday movie to the big screen.

Further details about the upcoming feature movie, including cast and targeted release date, will be revealed in the months ahead.
