Zag zooms in with $37 million while ReShape tones up with $20 million

The first week of February was pretty active for fundraising. Some of the startups announcing funds this week include an online automobile company to a babysitting social network. These are some startups that raised funds across consumer Internet, digital media, advertising, and mobile sectors. 

 

Zag raised $37.4 million from USAA, Capricorn Investment Group, GRP Partners, and Anthem Venture Partners, according to VatorNews. The Santa Monica, Cali-based startup is an online dealership for automobiles. The purpose of the company is to make the automotive retailing experience better for dealers and buyers.

 

 

 

 

 

ReShape Medical raised $20 million from US Venture Partners, New Leaf Venture Partners, and SV Life Sciences, according to PE Hub.The San Clemente, California-based company is a maker of a non-surgical device known to treat obesity.

 

 Viagogo raised $15 million from tennis player Andre Agassi and Stefani Graef, Index Ventures, LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, German media mogul Herbert Kloiger, and financier Jacob Rothschild, according to PE Hub.The European startup is an online ticket exchange that lets users buy and sell tickets in a guaranteed way.

 

Sittercity raised $7.5 million from Point Judith Capital and Apex Ventures, according VatorNews.The Chicago-based startup is America's biggest and first Web-based caregiving network for babysitting, senior care, watching pets,nannies, and tutoring. Sittercity's mission is to connect parents with caregivers in their area to give each side what they want, while providing information to develop trust in that new relationship.  

 

Jingle Networks raised $7 million from Goldman Sachs, Hearst, IDG Ventures, Libert Asociated partners, Comcast Interactive Capital, and First Round capital, according to PE Hub. The San Francisco-based startup is known as a free directory assistance.

 

Pano Logic raised $6 million from Foundation Capital and Goldman Sachs, according to a press release.The Menlo Park, Cali-based company is the leader in server-based virtual desktop computing. Pano Logic has created a desktop virtualization which surpasses today's desktop PC.

 

TextDigger raised $4.3 million from True Ventures, Intel Capital, CBS Interactive, according to VatorNews. The San Jose, Cali-based startup is a text mining and search tools startup that make the Web more findable, to other search engines such as Google as well as other pages within the same site through cross related search.

 

 

Mixpo raised $4 million from Madrona Venture Group, Growthworks and Yaletown Venture Partners, according to VatorNews.The Seattle, Washington-based startup is an online video advertising technology company that enables any advertiser  to run actionable online video advertising and locally promote their business.

iWidgets raised $4.1 million from Opus Capital and University Venture Fund, according to VatorNews. The San Francisco-based company is a widget based platform that offers more customization than standard flash based applications. 

 

South49 Solutions raised $1.2 million from Originate Ventures, according to a press release. The Sterling, Virginia-based startup develops and markets proprietary workforce management and data collection software for industries with widely distributed staff.

 

 

 

 Babble Media raised $2 million from Village Ventures, according to VatorNews. The company's mission is to give new and young parents an honest persepective on parenting, which is one of life's most important experiences.
