CEO Tom Patterson to speak at CEO showcase in New York

Wize, a consumer products review aggregator, won the AlwaysOn/Vator OnMedia competition. The contest is part of AlwaysOn's ongoing effort to find game-changing companies in the marketing and advertising space.

Wize's algorithm generates lists of products based on consumer reports written across the Web. These lists are similar to Google's AdSense in that publishers can display the lists on their site. Wize's customers who are on the list then pay per each click driven to their site.

"It was great to be able to compete for the opportunity to present at the AO Conference. We learned about a lot of great companies along the way and we are looking forward to meeting other CEOs in New York in February," said Wize CEO Tom Patterson. While Wize won the competition by attracting the most votes - 52 - the startup also was recognized for its activity and popularity on Vator. Wize has nearly 300 followers.

As the winner, Patterson will have the opportunity to present at the AlwaysOn OnMedia 2009 event on Feb 2, 2009.

At the event, he will be able to give a six-minute CEO pitch to an audience of AlwaysOn investors and attendees. Wize.com will also be featured in AO's quarterly print "blogozine" and on the Vator.tv and AlwaysOn sites.

In second place was social media agency Appssavvy, with 36 votes.

In third place was DialPlus. The San Diego, Cali-based mobile startup was also the winner of the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award competition.
