Scott Moore leaves, and Jeff Dossett joins

Yahoo picked off another MSN executive to lead its media properties.

The portal giant on Monday confirmed that one of its top media executives, Scott Moore, is leaving the company for other opportunities. The online media giant also announced that Jeff Dossett will replace Moore.

Dosset served as executive producer and general manager for the MSN Media Network. He's had a long stint at Microsoft, having started in 1991. Moore, whose shoes Dossett will be filling, was also an MSN executive, overseeing MSN's programming group before leaving for Yahoo in 2005.

Dosset will be overseeing Yahoo's consumer experiences, including the portal's media properties, and report to Hilary Schneider, executive vice president of Yahoo U.S.

Yahoo isn't exactly the most stable place to be working these days. It just fired 1,500 people and its been struggling to get a deal with Google and Time Warner's AOL. But this challenge may just be the thing Dossett is seeking.  Back in 2002, he took off from Microsoft to climb the "Seven Summits" and he's successfully climbed Mount Everest twice, once in 2004 and once in 2008.
