The company raised its first round of $800,000 in angel money in the fall of 2009.
Represented by co-founder and CEO Matt Work and Vice President of Marketing Ronan Dunlop, Cohuman was one of 10 finalists at Vator Splash September. In fact, Dunlop tells me the company will be making an appearance at next week’s Vator Splash also, this time not as a finalist but at its very own demo table.
[Editor’s note: There’s still time to get early-bird tickets to visit Cohuman’s demo table at Vator Splash in San Francisco next Thursday, February 3rd. Go to the registration page to reserve your tickets and see the agenda. These prices are good until next Monday!]
Since its first angel round in the fall of 2009, Cohuman has launched both a free basic version of its service as well as a $20 per month professional version. The professional plan comes with added control features, like exclusive ability to add people and tasks, and 10 GB of file storage–versus 1 GB on the basic plan. Both versions allow for the creation of unlimited projects, email integration, calendars, shared task tracking and more.
In the past quarter, the number of Cohuman users has tripled to over 15,000 users. Cohuman, it comes as no surprise, is drawing much of its early success from people in the tech industry that understand the advantage of a next-generation task manager.
“Our customers are entrepreneurs, department heads and team leads. They understand how crucial it is to synchronize the tasks of people and teams in our age of information overload and distributed teams.” said Matthew Work, CEO and founder of Cohuman. “Simply cloud-hosting company documents and projects is not enough to run an efficient operation and maintain their competitive edge. Business has to shift from document-centric processes to people-centric ones.”
Cohuman is based in San Francisco with a team of nine. The new funding will go toward expanding business integration and mobile applications.
