Or as I like to call it, the things I forgot to remember. My wife is always telling me I have poor short-term memory. I would definitely agree with her, if I could only remember her name. We usually think about short-term memory when we think about our 90 year old uncle Phil. Honestly, you don’t mind so much that he forgets things; you just fear the things he might remember. We cringe at the thought of him bringing up that whole swimming pool, lost trunks, everyone laughing thing from when we were 9. So you constantly say, oh pay no never mind to Uncle Phil, he doesn’t know what he’s saying.
So let’s relate this to computer terms. Ram or read only memory is like the short-term memory of your computer. We don’t really care so much about its speed or capacity. But we surely care when it brings up bad memories. We call those “memory errors”. In the old days they were called abends, we now call them crashes. Microsoft calls them “features”. Now we constantly tell them, like Uncle Phil, to stay quiet. And we call that error protection.
Here at DKWTechnik we promise to never call an error a “feature”. We also promise to possibly maybe never forget the bad times. But we will never forget to…….
