Social shopping, an Internet trend of searching, buying, recommending and reviewing products across the Web just got somewhat easier.  Most of the time, you go to one of your favorite social shopping sites like ThisNext, and read all sorts of reviews and then browse out of the site to actually go find that product you are looking for.

Snipi, has an alternative to this tedious problem with its new Firefox plug-in offering nifty features to enhance the user online shopping experience.

Features include a drag and drop interface for making lists of items found across the Web.  Users basically browse to the product page of whatever they are particularly interested in, drag the product image down into the toolbar…

…then Snipi automatically adds the description.  Users can then highlight and drag whatever details they want from the rest of the page into a text box, it’d be nice if this feature was automated like that of the title…

Users can also drag and drop videos from YouTube and Vimeo.

Snipi then lists product comparisons with prices & links in a box next to the item the user may be interested in.  I tried Don Quixote but Snipi couldn’t find my ‘exact product’ and instead listed some related items…

Besides price comparison features, Snipi then becomes social, allowing users to share their findings via Twitter, Facebook, WordPress and an iPhone app.

I had some issues with the items I’d dragged into my lists disappearing, but I’m sure Snipi will be quick to resolve these.

Snipi was founded in 2007 and plans to become the leading Internet platform brand for the consumer, the retailer and the advertiser. For more information, visit www.snipi.com.
