At a recent AlwaysOn conference, Bambi Francisco met with Zephrin Lasker, CEO of Pontiflex, a company that helps deliver performance-based advertising to marketers.

Lasker is a serial entrepreneur, who’s started three companies.

“The first one I started was an e-commerce company back in the early boom days and in late 90’s that kind of went in a predictable way,” he said. “It failed, but I learned a lot of lessons,” he said.

“The very important piece of advice that stands out to me is, learn from your failures because sometimes you learn more from your failures than your successful moments.

“The second would be: Before you go out into the market to raise venture capital, prove your business model and say that you will have this number of dollars by this time. And finally, I would say that the one of the most important characteristics of a successful entrepreneur is persistence. There are going to be setbacks and there is going to be change but you’re going to have to adapt and then you’re going to succeed. But if you hit a road block and you give up, then you will never get there.”
