“Plans for a Tuesday auction of Linens ‘n Things were scrapped Monday night, dooming one of the country’s largest housewares retailers to liquidation by the end of the year.
A notice filed on the docket of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del., announced that the auction had been called off because no bidder had stepped forward to compete with a coalition of liquidators who offered about $475.5 million to shut Linens ‘n Things down.”
