I think it'll be difficult once FriendFeed undergo its complete change. I mean many users are fond of the "FriendFeed" name. I think it would be wise for Facebook to just keep the name and brand and expand upon it with its own technology. :)

Meliza, Excellent show! As with Twitter, this was coming and it's quite interesting and Twitter was preparing for it. Apple dominates the phone market with their iPhone. Though the Palm Pre is kicking heat against the innovative thinker (Apple). Awesome work! Meliza, I'm looking forward to finally meeting you and the Vator Team next month. ;)

Hey Meliza! Very great show! This is virtually where the world is going to. In times of stress and recession, it is innovation and new startups that reels in the full-time consumers, creating more opportunities. :)

Hey Meliza, Thank you for showing this to me. I'm wondering how will social sites like Facebook will be able to play into the demographics in China? Especially since the country has over 3 billion people? I watched Siri CTO Tom Gruber sharing his insight for entrepreneurs and I must say that he is right on the money. I love it when you guys do entrepreneur interviews as it always gives me a better perspective on things. Keep it up! :D

MELIZA!! Excellent show! I must say Carol Bartz is not kidding around. Shes definitely taking aim to reduce Yahoo! My assumption is definitely to increase it's performance since Google has been gaining ground for some time. Very interesting story indeed. :)

Very interesting. This is exactly what most entrepreneurs have. It's all about not giving up on your 'vision' even though you've taken many of the failing routes. Eventually, you'll come to a successful point. - Kevin

Great show Meliza. I would like to know how Rob Matthew, find time to print out 5,000 pages. That's like a physical Flight manual on how to build a jet from the ground up. It's interesting to see other members of greater companies like Facebook to expand into their own ideas. :)

I like this article. This actually relates to what we're achieving by leveling the social networks and providing new experiences through their technology.

I'm very interested to see how Windows 7 will work. So far I'm enjoying Vista. Nevertheless, it's always good to see Microsoft up to new ideas these days. :)

Hi everyone, Thank you so much for tuning into the show. I find that WaTunes & LyricFind will have a compelling story to tell. I know that on our end, we're definitely moving forward to provide a unique service to independent musicians and the fans. :)

Excellent article Josh!!! :D This pretty much nails and summarize where WaTunes is going. Our goal is to provide a deeper connection of music for the fans so that they can stay updated easily with their favorite artists (and of course including the majors). Though our primary focus is independents. Music in general should be more socialized where fans can get more hands-on to the artists and establish a relation with their favorites that can become a widespread phenomenon. ;)

Excellent Show Meliza! It's quite amazing what you can do with technology, innovation, and ideas. It'll be interesting to see what 'friends' would become next? I'd say something like 'Followers' or 'People'. We'll see how fast this grows. Thanks for the show. :)

Good show Meliza, Though Pitch.TV's idea is compliment to Virgin Airways, I don't think they'll be able to draw in the large consumers as Vator because they're a little late in the game. Though It's always great to see competition in your market so let's see what happens! Go Vator! :D

Great show Meliza. It's quite sad that MySpace is cutting back jobs due to Google's pullout. I'm curious to see the outcome and to observe if MySpace has something else up their sleeves. Also, me as a B-Ball fan. It's great to finally be able to watch March Madness on the iPhone (though I own a BlackBerry). Too bad. Darn. :)

Hi Bambi, Not a problem. The problem with DRM is that they prohibit users to transfer their music to their favorite mobile or MP3 devices. If you were an iTunes buyer a couple years ago, you wouldn't be able to download and burn your music onto a CD or MP3 device other than the iPod. This is because each song is registered with a specific licensing code. Today all major labels has finally embraced the DRM-Free solution which enables anyone to buy music and burn them into a CD or their favorite MP3 device.
on Free music site SpiralFrog shuts downMarch 20, 2009 10:14 AM -
Oh wow! SpiralFrog shuts down? Well I've been researching this and I've can kinda pinpoint my view of the reason. Firstly, they believe that their ad-model would work. Research proves that no music site can really generate consistent revenue on Ads alone. There has to be other niches which the consumers can discover music with simplicity. Secondly, they offered DRM content which definitely hurt them as bigger players were getting away from DRM. Lastly, they consumed too much of their investments before the launch of the site which can definitely cause a more of a hit-or-miss gamble on the business. Very risky. Me personally, I'd like to see SpiralFrog bounce back and produces a system that perhaps is ad-support but also DRM-Free. I also think that if they expand their ad-supporting system to their consumers outside of the site, they could generate that consistent revenue.

Very interesting. I agree. I think that mobile and phone applications will play a new role advantage to new companies. I also think social media will play into that category as well. :)
