UStream just announced $11 million in funding from Doll Capital Management and Band of Angels. Looks like there are some management changes too. UStream also said that Chuck Walker would replace Chris Yeh as CEO. Chris is an angel investor in UStream.

Simplicity is king - what UStream does is not (yet) terribly sexy outside of the geek world but it focuses on one of the great digital divides within the digital world: Now anybody with a camera and an Internet connection can present live and interactive video to a global audience... sounds simple but it used to be way too expensive when thinking of classic streaming reflectors like Akamai. Moreover, UStream provides a simple yet powerful directory of live and recorded content, so finding your desired video is easy. A bit more information on the business model would have been helpful; it does sound like a resource-intensive operation that will require a significant revenue stream from premium content, advertising and syndication.
